ARTS FOR CONSERVATION
Creative projects supporting communities living alongside wildlife in Botswana.
Arts for Conservation is a visual and community-based project created to support people living in areas affected by human-wildlife conflict in Botswana.
Through art, photography, recycling, handmade objects and creative workshops, the project brings attention to the daily challenges faced by rural communities who share their land with elephants, predators and other wildlife. These are the people living closest to conservation — often carrying the greatest cost of protecting wild places.
The images on this page document creative initiatives developed with local communities, using art as a tool for education, expression and support. From paper beads and papier-mâché sculptures to conservation-themed workshops, each project was designed to encourage creativity, generate awareness and create a deeper connection between people, wildlife and the land they share.
For me, conservation is not only about protecting animals. It is also about listening to the communities who live beside them, understanding their challenges and creating meaningful ways for people and wildlife to coexist.
Arts for Conservation is where creativity, community and wildlife protection meet.
